Project Synchronization

It is fairly common that you will change your table or field definitions of your Data Source during the course of project development. To save the effort of doing the customization from scratch again, ASP.NET Maker provides you with the ability to synchronize your project data with the related Data Source. The syncrhonzation process can be invoked in the following situations:

1. During the course of customization

Simply click [Tools], [Synchronize] or click thebutton on the toolbar to perform the synchronization. ASP.NET Maker will check automatically to see if the current database schema has been altered. If there has been a change, you will be prompted whether or not to proceed with the syncrhonization.

2. During open of the project file

When opening a project file, ASP.NET Maker will automatically check the data source to see if the database schema has been altered. You will be prompted to keep or upgrade to the new schema definition if this has been a change.

TIP: If the database contains a large number of tables/fields, this auto-sychronization feature may slow down the loading of a project file. In this case you can disable this feature by unchecking [Auto Synchronize] under the [Tool] menu.
