In Windows Vista, User Account Control (UAC) and its Admin Approval Mode are enabled by default. When UAC is enabled, local administrator accounts run as standard user accounts. This means that when a member of the local Administrators group logs on, they run with their administrative privileges disabled. The HTTP 500 error is a generic error message that Internet Explorer passes out to you when your web site errors for one reason or another. To enable Internet Explorer to show the error, select Internet Options from the Tools menu at the top of Internet Explorer, select the Advanced tab, uncheck "Show friendly HTTP error messages" checkbox. Then run your script again to see a more useful error message.
