Installation Instructions

Important Notes: (Please read carefully before installation.)

1. System Requirements

PHPMaker

Windows 98/ME/NT/2000/XP/2003/Vista

PHPMaker requires a few other system files. If you do not have latest version of these files (usually Windows 98 users), you may experience ActiveX errors while running PHPMaker. To update your system, go the Microsoft download pages listed below. If you are not already using IE 6.0 or later, it is recommended to install it first as it includes most if not all of the required files.

Microsoft Internet Explorer 6 or later
Service Pack 6 for Visual Basic 6.0: Run-Time Redistribution Pack (vbrun60sp6.exe)
Microsoft Windows Script 5.6 (Windows XP and Windows 2000 )
Microsoft Windows Script 5.6 (Windows Server 2003)
MSXML Parser 3.0
DCOM98 for Windows 98, version 1.3 (Windows 98 only)

Server

Linux/Unix or Windows Web server
PHP 4 (>= 4.1.0) or PHP 5
MySQL 3.21 or later, MySQL 4.x, MySQL 5.x

2. Installation

Important: Before you install PHPMaker, you must be logged in as a user with administrative privileges. It is recommended that you turn off all antivirus or security softwares. (You can turn them back on after successful installation.)

Double-click on the downloaded executable to start the installation process. Follow the prompts and change the settings whenever necessary.

Before installing new version of PHPMaker, always uninstall previous version first.
