Upgrade Policy

Minor Version Upgrades

All registered users can get all minor version upgrades free of charge after purchase. A minor version upgrade might add small features, improvements and fix bugs found in the previous versions. The first part of a version number is the major version number, if it is not changed, it is a minor upgrade. For example, if you have version 1.0 of a product, then versions 1.0.0.1, 1.0.1 and 1.1 are all minor version upgrades.

Minor version upgrades are usually released several times between major versions, but we do not guarantee the exact quantity. For example, if the version number is 1.1 when you purchase your license, there may not be any minor version upgrades before the next major version upgrade.

The license key of a minor version upgrade may or may not be changed. If it is changed, you can go to the registered user site to obtain your new license key. The login information of the registered site will be provided when you purchase your license.

Major Version Upgrades

Upgrading to a new major version of a program always requires an upgrade license. The upgrade fee will normally be 50% of the standard product price. A major version upgrade adds lots of new features, and may even be largely rewritten. Major upgrades are released typically once every year, but it may be sooner or later. If the first part of a version number changes, it is a major upgrade. For example, if you have version 1.1, then version 2.0 is a major upgrade and an upgrade license is required.

If you purchased your license within 60 days before a major upgrade release, either you can upgrade at the cost of price difference between the new major version and the version you purchased, or you can get a free upgrade when there is no price difference.
